This presentation is designed to help parents and educators understand the two new methods of identification
and intervention: Response to Intervention (RTI) and Pattern of Strengths and Weaknesses (PSW).
"By attending the presentation, you will learn about academic instruction, contributions of specific cognitive abilities, and the current state of Oregon school districts. Participants will see how the ORBIDA Position Paper on dyslexia and learning disabilities has been incorporated into the practices of Portland schools. This includes how Portland is using the science of school neuro-psychology, federal eligibility categories, and the brain-based models of dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia in order to identify and meet the needs of its students."
